  • How do I send an SMS?

    • Click on a contact name in your contact list, then click the SMS button and follow the instructions.

  • What is WebSMS?

    • You can send SMS mobile text messages from www.rebtel.com to your Rebtel contacts and any other mobile phone.

      We cannot yet deliver SMS to the US, Canada and a few other destinations. Complete WebSMS pending list

  • Can my friends reply to my WebSMS messages?

    • Yes they can. Make sure you select a mobile phone as your 'from' number, and your friend’s reply will come directly to your phone (not through Rebtel).

  • Can I send an SMS to more than one number at the same time?

    • Yes, you can. Just click on the link ‘Add more recipients’ and enter the numbers of more friends.

  • Why can’t Rebtel deliver SMS to the US?
    • Currently, Rebtel has no SMS provider that can send SMS to the US but we’re working hard to get one as soon as possible.
  • How many WebSMS can I send per day?

    • You can send up to 30 WebSMS per day.

  • Is it possible to send SMS to Rebtel numbers?

    • Yes, but not directly from your phone. It is only possible to send WebSMS messages from the website.

  • Why can’t I send WebSMS messages directly from my phone?

    • Rebtel numbers are all landline numbers - mobile networks won't always send SMS messages to landlines, only other mobiles.

  • What is the cost of a WebSMS?
    • As you type you’ll see the number of SMS messages that will be sent to each recipient, and the total cost for sending them.
  • How do I know if an SMS has been delivered?

    • We cannot yet provide delivery reports on WebSMS, though we hope to be able to do so soon. We cannot guarantee that every WebSMS will go through, but we do as many checks as possible before sending so we won’t charge you if we know that we cannot deliver due, for example, to an invalid number. We therefor have to charge WebSMS regardless of success or failure in delivery.
