International Numbers with Rebtel: Stay Connected Across Borders

What Are International Numbers?

If you're living or working abroad, Rebtel’s International Numbers feature lets you stay easily reachable by giving you a phone number from your home country. This means your friends and family can call you just like they always have at local rates, with no international fees.

So even if you’re thousands of miles away, it feels like you never left.

Good to know:

• This feature is currently available only for Rebtel users in the U.S.

• It’s for calling only, text messages sent to your International Number won’t go through.

How to Set Up Your International Number

Ready to get started? Here’s how to set it up in just a few taps:

1. Download the Rebtel App
   Make sure you have the latest version installed on your device.

2. Tap "Services"
   From the app’s home screen, go to the Services tab and select International Numbers.

3. Choose Your Country
   Select the country you’d like your number to come from. (Note: Currently only U.S. users and contacts in Nigeria are supported.)

4. Pick Your Contacts
   Choose the friends or family members who’ll be allowed to call you using this number.

5. Tap "Create Local Number"
   Once you’ve selected your contacts, press this button to generate your new number.

6. Subscribe and Share
   Hit "Subscribe," and you’re good to go! You can now share your International Number with the contacts you selected.

Is My Country Supported?

At the moment, International Numbers are available for:

• Rebtel users located in the U.S.

• Contacts located in Nigeria

Rebtel is working to expand to more countries soon, so keep an eye out for updates!

How to Manage Contacts on Your International Number

You can give access to up to 10 people, so your closest contacts can reach you easily. Here’s how to manage them:

Add a Contact

You have two options:

Option 1: Let Rebtel Access Your Contacts
If you allow the app to access your contact list, it will suggest eligible contacts based on the country you’ve chosen. Just tap:

• "Add Contact" for suggestions, or

• "Search Contact" to find someone manually.

Tip: Make sure their number is saved in international format so it shows up correctly.

Option 2: Add Manually
Prefer to keep your contacts private? No problem. Just tap "Add Number" and type in the phone number you want to include.

Remove a Contact

Need to update your list? Here's how to remove someone:

1. Go to Services > International Numbers

2. Select the number you want to update

3. Tap the "X" next to the contact you want to remove

4. Confirm, and that’s it!

Trouble Adding a Contact?

If you’re having issues adding someone, they might already be linked to another Rebtel account. Unfortunately, one number can’t be used across multiple accounts.

What to do:
Try adding a different contact, or reach out to Rebtel support for help.
